Privacy & Cookie Policy
How we handle information on this website, and the choices you have.
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This Privacy & Cookie Policy explains how Fairwood Family Daycare ("we," "us," or "our") handles information collected through this website, fairwoodfamilydaycare.com. It covers the website only. Information you share with us as part of enrolling or caring for your child is handled separately under our Parent Policy & Procedure Handbook.
In short: We collect only what we need to respond to you, we use a few necessary cookies to run the site, and we ask before setting any advertising or analytics cookies. You can reject optional cookies at any time using the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of any page — it's just as easy as accepting.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you use our contact form, we collect the name, email address, and phone number you enter, along with any message you choose to include. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and to follow up about childcare. We don't sell it, rent it, or share it for marketing.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our server keeps basic technical records. When you submit the contact form, we record the date, time, and IP address of the submission. We use this strictly to prevent spam and abuse of the form and to keep the site secure. We don't use it to build a profile of you.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. We use two categories:
- Necessary cookies (always on). When you use the contact form, we set a temporary session cookie that protects the form against fraudulent submissions (a security measure called a CSRF token). This cookie is required for the form to work, contains no advertising data, and expires when you close your browser. Because it is strictly necessary, it isn't covered by the consent banner.
- Advertising & analytics cookies (optional, off by default). With your permission, we use Google Ads to understand how families find our site — for example, which ad led someone to contact us. These cookies are not set unless you accept them. If you reject them, or simply ignore the banner, they stay off.
How to accept or reject cookies
The first time you visit, a banner lets you Accept all or Reject optional cookies. Both choices are presented equally. You can change your mind at any time by clicking "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Rejecting optional cookies does not limit your ability to use any part of this site.
Google Ads
If you accept advertising cookies, we use Google Ads conversion tracking. This tells us when a visit that began with one of our ads results in a contact-form submission, so we can understand which ads are working. This processing is handled through Google Consent Mode, meaning Google only sets these cookies after you opt in. Google acts as a third party here; you can read how Google uses data at policies.google.com/privacy and learn about ad choices at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Embedded maps
Our contact page includes a Google Map showing our general area. When that map loads, Google may receive your IP address and set its own cookies, governed by Google's privacy policy linked above.
How we store and protect information
Contact-form submissions are emailed to us and stored on our hosting provider's secure server. The site is served over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we apply standard security protections. No method of transmission over the internet is ever 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to safeguard your information.
How long we keep it
We keep contact-form inquiries only as long as needed to respond and to keep a reasonable record of who has reached out — typically no longer than necessary for that purpose. You can ask us to delete your inquiry at any time (see "Your choices" below).
Children's privacy
This website is intended for parents, guardians, and other adults — not for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through this site. If you believe a child has provided us information through the website, please contact us and we will delete it. (Information about enrolled children is collected offline, directly from parents and guardians, and is handled under our enrollment paperwork rather than this website policy.)
Your choices
- Cookies: Accept or reject optional cookies using the banner or the "Cookie settings" link on any page.
- Access or deletion: You can ask us what inquiry information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing contact@fairwoodfamilydaycare.com.
- Email: If we ever follow up by email, you can ask us to stop at any time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
